In the whirlwind of excitement around our film from a couple of weeks ago, there are some serious skeletons surfacing in the work of one of the directors. I wonder whether they will impact the film’s awards chances? More fuel for fascinating ideas about reality and perception I say.

Our next film premiered at Sundance, won a bunch of awards, and yet failed to get picked up by any of the major streamers. It’s an interesting example/victim of the changing doc landscape - five years earlier they probably would’ve sold this to Netflix for an epic sum.

It looks very much in the vein of Spellbound, Science Fair and maybe even Boys State - group of kids competing, who will win? - but beautifully shot and cast. Friend of 52docs™ Christoph was heavily involved so I’ll try and get more insight when we meet this week to dissect the film in the first paragraph.
