52docs / 21 - We're all birders now

Oof. Sorry guys I know it has been a moment but I’ve been heaving a new film across the finish line and it consumed all of my documentary brain power.

Luckily we’re entering peak northern hemisphere doc season. Evenings are getting darker and there are some awesome new releases migrating onto the horizon. We back at it.

Our next doc has been doing the rounds but if you haven’t caught it yet just jump in.

It’s like going to a gig and the support band you’ve never heard of before leaves you open mouthed. Out of nowhere an incredible homemade film that is actually funny bubbled up and has been getting the kind of views and reviews most doc makers only dream about.

These guys have achieved it all - lived the (Kia Sedona) dream, filmed it beautifully, built a loyal following who are actually paying for the work (check out the comments on yt!), and opened people’s eyes to the wonders of the natural world with not a film festival run or Sundance grant in sight.
